The Finance industry has undergone significant changes with the advent of publicly-connected technology, and investing has become more accessible to individuals seeking to grow their wealth. However, navigating through the myriad investment products can be challenging and time-consuming, especially for those who lack financial expertise.

AMM reached out to us in 2008 after their initial system had been developed by a sole contract developer as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) under the direct supervision of their Managing Director, Stephen Jewell.

The concept was impressive in the uniqueness of the service offering, and the system was able to dutifully perform the core transactions of the business (signing up clients; taking instructions for Term Deposits; showing balances; and presenting the necessary files for consumption by their main banking provider).

Automation had yet to be implemented, and it was time for AMM to find a more reliable support services provider than the single contractor who had initially developed the system.

It was obvious that, as the system matured, it would need a plethora of new features and service provider integrations (with banks, financial planning platforms, etc).

The Australian Money Market (AMM) is an online platform that enables individuals, businesses, and institutions to invest and manage their funds in a secure, cost-effective, and transparent manner. The platform provides access to a wide range of investment products, including term deposits, high-interest savings accounts, bonds, and managed funds, from various financial institutions across Australia.

AMM's platform offers a range of features that allow investors to customise their cash management strategies to suit their needs and preferences. Investors can choose from a range of investment products offered by various banks and financial institutions, and set up automatic rollovers and renewals to ensure that their cash holdings remain invested at all times. The platform also provides real-time market data and analytics, enabling investors to make informed investment decisions and monitor the performance of their cash holdings.

Creative Intersection designed, constructed, supported and maintained over 20 brands for Australian Money Market and their partners. The services delivered included technical and solutions architecture, project management, User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design, web development, Quality Assurance and maintenance.

Creative Intersection took over support of the AMM system and documented the software and processes as we went along. 

New features quickly started to be required as the business took off, and over the course of over a decade we provided more than 45,000 hours of 24/7 support and development, making a core contribution to the business which has seen it grow its Funds Under Management (FUM) to more than $8 billion.

Our team provided secure on-metal hosting through our Data Centre colocation facility for several years (with a sustained uptime of 99.997%) until the business matured to a point where it was deemed more desirable to migrate to a public cloud solution. We then managed and facilitated a migration to a scalable Azure service.

AMM has experienced significant success since its launch in 2008. As of March 2023, the platform had $8 billion in Funds Under Management and has diversified well beyond its initial offering of Term Deposit management. 

Creative Intersection’s extensive development and support maintenance of the platform was hugely successful. The platform has also received several awards for its innovative business model, including the 2020 Finder Awards for Best Online Platform and Best Term Deposit Platform for seven years running (2016-2022).
